What is PSV License?

PSV stands for Public Service Vehicle License.

How many types of PSV are available?

There are 3 PSV categories in Malaysia:

  1. Teksi / Teksi Mewah / Kereta Sewa / E-Hailing
  2. Bas Mini / Van
  3. Bas

Which PSV category is required for Grab Drivers?

Only PSV under the Teksi / Teksi Mewah / Kereta Sewa / E-Hailing category is accepted for Grab Driver registration.

What is the cost to obtain PSV License?

PSV course fees vary depending on the driving institute. Estimated cost for PSV course only is around RM70 – RM300.

Additional costs may include:
• Medical Check-Up (JPJL8A): around RM50 – RM80
• PSV Card processing fee at JPJ: around RM20 – RM50

New Grab drivers may obtain PSV License with Grab for FREE, including:
• 6-hours PSV course
• Light refreshments / meals

What is the easiest way to obtain PSV License for new drivers?

New drivers may register online through the Grab Driver Registration Form. Registration admin will guide and provide instructions regarding PSV application and registration steps.

I am an existing Grab Driver and my account was terminated due to No PSV License.

For account termination due to missing PSV License, drivers are required to visit Grab GDC for account appeal and reactivation assistance. Grab GDC admin will guide drivers on the PSV application process.

  1. Vehicle manufactured year 2012 and above
  2. Malaysian Citizen (MyKad only) aged 21 years old and above
  3. Blue MyKad holder only (MyTentera and MyPR are NOT accepted)
  4. Valid Driving License D / DA (P License NOT accepted)
  5. Android / iPhone smartphone

• Profile Photo
Used for Grab Driver App profile photo. Strictly no cap/hat or sunglasses.

• Original IC Photo (Front)
Ensure details are clear and there is no camera flash reflection.

• Vehicle Insurance Cover Note
Driver’s name must appear in the insurance driver list.
Cover note must include full vehicle details such as chassis number and engine number.
